Exploring the Physician Experience at BCCDC TB Services

The need:

Provincial Tuberculosis (TB) Services at the BC Centre for Disease Control aims to reduce the impact of TB in the province through health promotion and education, program evaluation and research, disease prevention, treatment, and follow-up support. Physician leadership at TB Services wanted to examine the physician experience working within the program.

What we did:

Working closely with physician leadership, Catalyst completed a process evaluation of the TB Services to deeply understand the physician experience working within the program. In-depth interviews and an online survey were completed with past and current TB physicians. The findings illustrated key pain points working in the program and potential solutions, insights from physicians who left, and ideas to enhance recruitment and retention efforts in the future. The evaluation report also highlighted actionable recommendations physician leadership could take to improve the physician experience moving forward.

What our client had to say:

“Elayne was a proactive and productive consultant who very quickly understood the nature of our program and helped to clarify our goals of engagement. The information gathered was quickly and expertly collated and analyzed, followed by a succinct and meaningful summary document to help guide next steps. Overall, our work with Catalyst Consulting was extremely positive and I would not hesitate to work with them again.”
